Incineration Air Purifiers
What is an incineration air purifier?
An incineration style air purifier is very simple. Air within the sterilization chamber is heated to a very high temperature that is sufficient to kill harmful microorganisms like bacteria and viruses just as you would sterilize surgical instruments, etc. The working part of an incineration-style air purifier is a ceramic incineration chamber (or a group of them). The chambers heat the air to temperatures of about 400 degrees Fahrenheit/250 degrees Celsius. The air then rises, drawing new, cool air in by creating a convection current. While the air is passing through the chambers, contaminants in the air are incinerated (burned) and thereby destroyed. A popular brand on the market is "Airfree."
What contaminants do incineration air purifiers remove?
Incineration air purifiers are designed primarily to kill bacteria and viruses and other harmful microorganisms.

Benefits of Incineration Air Purifier Technology
- generally good for bacteria and virus treatment
- quiet / silent
- no filters to replace, low maintenance
Negatives of Incineration Air Purifier Technology
- less effective at removing particulates and certain allergens than HEPA
- slow treatment rate - since the incineration air purifiers rely solely on passive convection to move air through the ceramic incineration chambers, it does not process air nearly as quickly as a traditional HEPA filter. Accordingly, it takes longer to achieve the desired contaminant reduction and treatment for some contaminants may be ineffective if re-contamination rate/frequency is high
Conclusion
Due to these drawbacks, this style of air purifier is best used in conjuntion with other types of air purifiers like HEPA. In our view, a more economical and desirable option is consider a HEPA air purifier with an optional UV sterilizer of you are looking for additional protection against bacteria and viruses and other microbiological contamiannts.
