Austin's air purifiers are well regarded for their exceptional value, long-filter life, economical operation costs, and all-purpose allergen, odor, and chemical contaminant removal. Austin offers 3 primary filter options in 2 sizes which offer a reasonably targeted approach for most major contaminant types. However, for certain filtration tasks, a more targeted filter may be more desirable. Austin air purifiers are recommended for individuals looking for a medical-grade air purifier at an economical price.

Airpura air purifiers are similar in many respects to the Austin air models, except they offer greater filter options for more specific air cleaning tasks, and have a higher air handling rate. All Airpura models are based on the same primary platform, but use different filters to focus on specific groups of contaminants. By being slightly more specialized and targeted at the contaminants of greatest concern, Airpura air cleaners do cost a little more than a similar Austin Air system. However, compared to other air purifiers with comparable specialization, they are very affordable and offer excellent value. Due to the wide range of filter options, Airpura air purifiers are an excellent choice for individuals requiring specialized or targeted contaminant reduction.
