2. Ethyl Formate is a clear, colorless liquid with an aromatic odor. This substance is highly flammable and may form explosive mixtures with air.

3. Ethyl Formate is used as a solvent for cellulose nitrate, cellulose acetate, oils, and greases. It is also used as a fumigant and larvacide for tobacco, cereals, and dried fruits.

4. Acute exposure to Ethyl Formate may cause irritation to the eyes, nose, and respiratory tract. Ingestion may result in irritation to the mouth, stomach and burning of the esophagus.
