1. Also known as Methylbenzene or Phenylmethane, Toluene is of the solution:

2. Toluene is a colorless liquid with a benzene odor. It is flammable in both liquid and vapor phase and decomposes at high temperatures, producing toxic fumes.

3. Toluene is used as a solvent to produce paint, lacquers, resins and adhesives. It is also used to make benzene and can be found in gasoline/aviation fuel.
