Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S)

1. Hydrogen Sulfide is of the solution:

2. Hydrogen Sulfide is a colorless, flammable gas that has a sulfur (“rotten egg”) odor.

3. Obtained naturally by sour gas, natural gas, and volcanic discharge, Hydrogen Sulfide is used in metallurgy, as an oil additive, and to produce Sulfur.

4. Inhaling high concentrations of Hydrogen Sulfide may cause death. However, lower level exposure may result in fatigue, headache, and or irritation to the eyes.

5. Straight activated carbon has a limited capacity for Hydrogen Sulfide. The use of an appropriate specially impregnated carbon is recommended.
