Trichloroethane (C2H3Cl3)

1. Also known as Methyl chloroform, trichloroethane is of the solution:

2. Trichloroethane is a colorless liquid with a sweet odor that evaporates quickly to vapor form. This chemical does not occur naturally, but can be found in glue, paint, and industrial degreasers.

3. As of 1996, Trichloroethane no longer was produced in the United States due to the affect it had on the ozone layer.

4. Trichloroethane is used in many building materials and acute exposure (inhalation) of this chemical can cause dizziness, nausea. Higher levels of exposure may cause unconsciousness, along with low blood pressure.

5. Austin Air filters have a high capacity for this particular substance and will do a sufficient job in adsorbing the Trichloroethane from the environment.
