1. Also known as Nitrogen tetroxide, Nitrogen dioxide is of the solution:

2. Nitrogen dioxide is a reddish-brown gas with a strong, harsh odor. It is formed when Nitrite oxide mixes with oxygen.

3. Nitrogen dioxide is a big contributor in the atmospheric reactions that cause ground-level ozone. It greatly affects the human health by causing acute bronchitis/pneumonia.

4. Burning wood and or kerosene causes high concentration exposures.

5. Straight activated carbon has a low capacity for Nitrogen Dioxide. The use of an appropriate specially impregnated carbon is recommended.
