1. Pyrethroid is a compound including:

2. Pyrethroid is a dark yellow or brownish solid which is often supplied in solution.

3. Pyrethroids are synthetic versions of a natural insecticide produced by chrysanthemum flowers. It is primarily used for mosquito control. It is highly toxic to bees and fish.

4. Although Pyrethroids are among the least toxic insecticides, they are, in fact, nerve poisons. Inhalation can cause coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, chest pain, or difficulty breathing. Skin contact can cause a rash, itching, or blisters. Extreme high dosages can lead to liver and thyroid damage. At least one variety of the compound has been labeled by the EPA as a possible human carcinogen.
